Constructed in the 1940s (completed 1946), Chelsea Park
was commissioned by local artisan Ethel Noreen Garry, for whom
building was a passion. This imposing mansion was designed on
classic art deco lines, to remind her, so she said, of a pleasant
stay in a hotel in Honolulu in the 1920s.
For most of its life a private home Chelsea Park, which
retains its original integrity as a building, is now a unique bed &
breakfast establishment furnished throughout in antiques and
collectables of the art deco era.
A tranquil, magic garden.
Situated in leafy Burradoo, just a few minutes from Bowral on the
road towards Moss Vale, Chelsea Park is surrounded by an acre
of enchanting gardens. With rows of pencil pines, specimen trees
(including a rare Japanese Swamp Cedar), roses, shrubs, annuals, and
thousands of spring flowering bulbs, Chelsea Park offers an inviting
getaway where you can relax and enjoy country living at its best.
At Chelsea Park breakfast is s special occasion you are
sure to remember. Served at private lace covered tables in the
sun-filled conservatory is the leisurely way to start your day.
Select from cereals, dried fruits, yoghurts, freshly squeezed
juices, seasonal platters of fruits or nuts.
Your main course may be bacon, sausages, eggs, tomato, baked
potato, mushrooms - or eggs Benedict, Florentine - or pancakes.
In sunny weather you may wish to sit outside on the garden
terrace to finish with bread, toast, preserves, and fresh tea or
coffee.
