Why stay at a Bed & Breakfast?

Why stay at a Bed & Breakfast? Both the business and pleasure travel-market are spoilt by a wide choice of accommodation providers, ranging from five-star hotels to cheap and cheerful motels. What criteria should a visitor use to decide where to stay? Price obviously features fairly high on the list of requirements, as would being in a good location, a reasonable number of facilities and extreme cleanliness. Whilst simply booking a nondescript room in a bland chain hotel would seem the easy option, the discerning traveller will usually head for quality bed and breakfast accommodation.

Why is that? Why stay at a Bed & Breakfast? Why do the big chain-hotels lose out to the small independent establishments? Certainly hotels have their place; for meetings, for events, for 24-hour room-service. 24-hour room-service? Does anybody really need food 24/7? Of course not. All visitors really want is a friendly, clean establishment with all the home-comforts. Who can fail to be impressed by a quality B&B? Individually themed rooms - some with four-poster beds and luxury fittings. Real attentive personal service, where you are greeted by your name, not as a room number. And after a good night’s peaceful slumber, a hearty breakfast awaits you.

But it’s not only creature comforts that make B&B’s irresistible. Other compelling reasons that mean you should stay at a Bed & Breakfast include a far more flexible outlook: late bookings, changes to bookings, unusual requests, unusual diets will all be taken on with a real genuine desire to please. Your hosts will be a mine of information on the local area, eager to give advice not found in the guide book. And let’s not forget value for money. Bed and Breakfast accommodation is usually very competitively priced when compared to other types of accommodation that provide less of an experience. So, why should you stay at a Bed & Breakfast? Bed and Breakfast establishments are the number one accommodation of choice for those who appreciate the finer things in life.
